For FP experts and websites owners, can you tell me the
best webserver with full support for FP? I was going to
use catalog.com, I've been to their site and they claim
to have FP extensions but when I spoke to them, someone
told me that depending on unix system or windows, FP
support will be limited. They confused me more and I 'm
lost. Also how do I check what system I use on my
computer? all I know is I have a computer and I use
window XP, don't know the rest. Help!

Mary,

I have been using ABAC out in California for years. Full FP support web hosting
is $9.95 month - the SOLO XR plan. You always get a live person in sales and in
tech support in about 3 or 4 minutes. The control panel for the/your domain is
magnificent. Exceptionally reliable. I mean almost crazy reliable. I have not
had any of my clients sites down in literally 4 years.

No, I have nothing to do with them... I'm not even a Reseller. :) Just a big
fan of their's!

These guys are well known within the realm of FrontPage for being the best. They are fully frontpage compatible. Even your search bot will work!

Checkout Applied Innovations Hosting . You can call and get the most knowledgable tech support on the phone almost anytime! They are not the cheapest on the block but after you've dealt with the companies that cut corners you'll be glad you paid the extra few bucks a month.

Applied Innovations Hosting

Hope that helps!

I actually have a site on Applied Innovations, and have consistently had trouble
with them. Site reliability is poor to very poor, tech support online is good
to poor, tech support on telephone is decent.

I have over 10 Storefront shopping cart websites on Applied Innovations on 4
different servers and have an up time that hovers around 100% with all of
them, what types of problems are you having?
I have yet to see a windows NT host that can compare to either the uptime or
tech support that I get from Appliedi, I currently have 0 outstanding
issues with them from all of the reseller accounts I have. They have always
been prompt. Drop into the storefront.support.general newsgroup and you will
see they are one of the most highly recommended hosts for Storefront
shopping carts and e-commerce in general. If you do have someone that you
consider better let's hear the choices........

You may want to do a little research on your host before recommending them.
news.admin.net-abuse.sightings
is full of complaints about abac.com.
I wouldn't host my clients with a spam blind host even if it were free.

rather than taking someone else's word for it let me offer this:
if you're going to use FrontPage you should use a Microsoft server. the
server should be well maintained by it's owners and the FrontPage extensions
should be kept up to date.
here is a cool tool you may find interesting:
