Hi, first time posting on here. Im currently playing around with web design using dreamweaver 8 and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions as to what packages that are available (free ones if possible) to use to design and modify banners, images, word art etc to use on my sites. All suggestions welcome, thanks.

Fireworks is a great application for web graphics (and partners well with Dreamweaver) - you should be able to get a 30 day trial of it - but it isn't free after that.

I've heard of this site before (free Serif software), but I've not tried it before. May be worth a go though

thanks Ian, ive downloaded Fireworks 8 now after watching the demo online, looks like just the sort of thing im after. no doubt i will become a regular poster with various questions and problems over the coming months!

Fireworks 8 is a great webdesign app, bundle it with Dreamweaver 8 and you've got a great setup for webdesigning and publishing.
