Does XP firewall block using webcam? If so what is the
best way of disabling it? I'm only at novice at this so
anything too complicated confuses me.

.
if you are using the XP firewall turn it off.
Right click my network places and go to properties.
you will see the firewall uncheck it.

Don't disable the firewall, it is the most important
security feature. You can configure the firewall to allow
services you require.
Even better, download and run Zone Alarm free from
www.zonelabs.com

It will ask you to approve each service or application when
it accesses the Internet, you can allow, deny and do it on a
one-time or always allow basis.

.
Dont listen to that guy. It is not the most important
thing. It is often difficult to use. Don't use it if you
don't know what your doing. Disable it.

The firewall protects against MSBLASTER even if you did not
have the patch. Firewalls are not that hard to use.
Anybody that says not to use a firewall wants to be able to
hack you (at least somebody).
