I'm running Windows XP MCE and want to use my 3Com HomeConnect
webcam with Yahoo Messenger 7. Actually, it seems to work, with one
exception:
I can't adjust the camera settings - brightness, color, etc. The
settings window comes up ok and displays the current settings, but
the sliders and increase/decrease buttons don't operate.
So to change the settings, I have to shut down the webcam in YM, and
go into the VidCap app that installed with the cam drivers, make the
adjustments there, shut that down, and then reopen the camera in YM.
I'm using the IONetworks drivers, which are the latest.
I have the same problem using this cam in WebCamNow, which is a Java
applet videochat website. Except in that case, the Settings window
doesn't come up at all.
Both YM and WCN work fine using the same cam and drivers on my 98SE
computer, so I just wondered if anyone could suggest what might be
wrong here under XP. Apparently there's no problem finding the
camera, just the adjustments function.
Well, I'm just hoping this will ring a bell with someone. It's a
great camera, and I would like to use it if possible.
