Webcam Help Please!!

Ok i've been having this problem for a while now, when i put my webcam on all lines move across the webcam screen and i cant fix it...
here is an example

but the lines continually move up and down the image.. anybody know what the problem might be?
 
I'd suggest trying this on another PC and see if it happens on that too, if so it's going to be a hardware problem and you'll have to replace it (or return it if it is under warranty) :)
 
ok thankyou, but i bought this off a friend a couple of months ago and it works fine on her computer.. still does..
 
Do you have the same operating system as she does? It might be worth ensuring that you have the exact same drivers that she is using.

I'm really not sure what could be causing this as it is such a random issue. Perhaps try some different webcam software?

I'm no expert when it comes to webcams, so I'm just coming up with some logical ideas that might help :)
 
What model is this? logitech?

Try downloading the relevant software from the manufacturers site, if possible.
 
Okay,

if you still have the box it came in, it should tell you the model number (like SD14 or something).

Or ask your friend and see if he/she knows.

Once you do find out, try downloading the right software from HERE

If it doesn't work then I'ma have to sleep on it :D


Edit: Just had a thought,

When my audio became distorted, it was because of a very dodgy connection. Make sure you've got the webcam plugged perfectly into the computer, and try the other USB plugs if you can.
