Not Outlook Web Access, but your ISP may offer webmail. There are also a lot
of companies who offer hosted Exchange - and now that we've all been through
the Blaster scare, they seem to be offering more in the way of network
security!

thanks, but what is a "hosted exchange"?

i have my own domain and have webmail through network
solutions or whatever their new name is. the problem is
thats only for mail. I'm looking to access my mail along
with my calendar and also for mail to apear within
outlook folders as on my pc. any advice?

I found a company that Hosts Exchange. Basically
speaking, it is a hosting service that allows you to do
exactly what you describe below. You end up with the
ability to have MS exchange 2003 without the expense of
the systems or expertise necessary. The company that I
use is www.Hostlabs.com go to their site and take a
look. Also, if you decide to get more information,
contact (e-mail address removed) and tell him John sent you.
They are the first to have Exchange 2003 hosting up and
running, plus I have NEVER had an issue with connectivity
to their system

You would need to look into a third party "Hosted Exchange" solution - see
www.intermedia.net for one option, although there are others. They will host
your domain's mail on their Exchange server, and this will give you Outlook
Web Access as well as let you access your mailbox using Outlook and
synchronize to an offline folder as well.

Would the above be a good viable option to learning how
to use Exchange and administer it..... vs buying it
outright for the same reasons.... i.e. learning
Exchange?

Hosting providers would not help you learn how to admin exchange...

In this case, it is better to simply set up a test network with a eval
copy of Exchange and "play" with it....
