Im developing a pocket pc app, at the moment im doing the testing from the
ipaq to the pc over the cradle, even thou the ipaq can wifi to the
webservices.
The thing is that I have changed the path of the web reference to an invalid
path, upon changing VS.Net told me it was invalid, but I ignored it, as I
was looking to test my setup on a live server. The strange thing is, is that
the ipaq will still connect in the test environment, but wont connect in the
live environement , which is an identical setup , just the server name is
different.

If any body has any ideas as to why this is happening I wouldbe grateful.

Thanks

Hi Jon,

When you connect to a web service from a Pocket PC device connected to the
desktop by using the cradle, the program at the Pocket PC uses the same user
as the one who's logged at the desktop computer. When you connect to the
web services by wifi, the program at the Pocket PC connects to the web
service by using the user logged at the Pocket PC (or the anonymous user if
you haven't logged in the pocket). The situation you describe seems to be
an issue with the user permissions. Could you please post the exact error
you got when you run the program in the live environment?
