I am using IE 6 w/ Win98SE.
One time a few days ago, and one time only, all of the web pages I visited
were as follows:
The top bar containing File Edit View etc. was not visible.
The buttons Stop Refresh Home etc. did not have their written descriptions
beneath them.
The bottom bar containing the Start button was not visible. This bar could
be made visible by moving the cursor to the bottom of the web page.
The Favorites list was only visible when the cursor was moved to the left
edge of the web page.
This made for a larger than normal web page while I was surfing.
I don't know what I did, if anything, to cause this, but I would like to
experiment with it a little more.
The next time I accessed the web, everything was back to normal.

Does anyone know what I did to cause this?

You need to update your video drivers and/or reduce hardware acceleration at
control panel, display, settings, advanced, performance.

Hardware acceleration was set to "High".
I reduced it gradually over several steps.
There was no change in the appearance of the web pages.
This is not a solution.

I don't know how to do that.

You shouldn't say you haven't been given a solution if you haven't tried all
suggestions. This is not a 'pick and choose what you want to try'
situation - well, actually it is, as long as you understand that if you only
take half the advice, you only have half a chance of getting a fix.

Go to the manufacturer's web site for your video card. Go to
downloads/support etc and find the latest drivers for your video card.
Follow the instructions for installation CAREFULLY and if you can't work it
out, get somebody more experienced with computers to sit down and the
machine and do it for you.

Please accept my humble appology. I had no idea you MVP's were so touchy.

Rather that do this, I decided to snoop around on my own to see what I could
find.
I found a very simple way to duplicate the screen I described in my original
post.

When this happens try pressing F11.
