I could use your help. Since I had to reformat my hard drive due to a virus
everything works well except that on most web pages the material is either
pushed all to the center or all to the left, making it very hard to read.

I have tried all the usual things, setting, view text size. GOt any ideas??
This is driving me crazy.
Thanks.C

Hi Crazy,

I am only guessing and so someone else may have a better answer.

It seems something ( a BHO - Browser Helper Object) may be injecting an
ActiveX control in your pages. Hence the pages are pushed to the side or
bottom.

You can disable Browser Helpers on the Advanced tab of the Internet Options
control panel. If the problem disappears then you can assume that this was
the cause. You may have to re-run your virus removal program to remove it
again. It may be also that the virus has changed your Windows Startup to
reinstall itself when you re-start windows. It may be worth investing in a
professional anti-virus/firewall program.

Many Web pages (e.g. www.msn.com) are designed to display at 800 pixels
width. If your window is wider than 800 pixels then what you are describing
will occur.

The option that Frank is referring to is not an IE option; it is a Windows
Display option, specifically in Display Properties, Settings tab;
change screen resolution down to 800x600.
(e.g. press Win-D Menu-r Ctrl-Backtab etc.)
