Some pages on the web, like the help page fill my browser
window perfectly, but many web pages(ex ESPN) only fill
60% of the page the rest is just the background color.
There fore the text or images are difficult to view. How
do I increase the width of the data to fill the web
page. I just reinstalled xp and do not want to reinstall.

thx frank

Manually stretch out the web page corners with your cursor, this should resize
the page display to normal. Please post back and let us know how you did.

There's nothing you can do with IE about those sites.
They have been designed for what the content provider
assumes is the average screen resolution (e.g. 800 x 600)
If you are using a greater screen resolution what you are seeing
is the same number of pixels that the average user sees
to fill his display and then blank space to fill your display.

There are third-party tools you can buy which make changes
to display properties, including resolution, more dynamic.
If you are lucky your video card maker may have already provided
you with such a tool. One which is well regarded is called PowerStrip.

Ditto on Robert's remarks.However... there is a small chance that maybe the
developer specified scalable font sizes in their code, and that increasing
font size will stretch the page layout for you (View > Text Size).
