MY DELL 19" MONITOR FITS SOME WEB SITES FULL ..AS TO SIDE TO SIDE BUT SOME
WEB SITES.. MOSTLEY NEWS SITE'S ...DO NOT. THE RIGHT SIDE DOES NOT EXTEND
TO THE WHOLE DISTANCE.. THE WHOLE PAGE IS DISPLAYED, BUT NOT EXTENDED TO THE
WHOLE SCREEN.

just thought of something else...i use the same monitor at work and tested
the same sites and they are displayed properly...ie use the whole screen

This is due to the screen resolution setting on your monitor. Some web
pages are coded to display only for 800x600 res - like most of the news
sites. The area to the right is either blank or, in some cases, is filled
by ads. Those sites do not run a script to detect your screen res.
settings. Other sites do this and display the page in the full width. To
check your screen res. settings, right click an empty spot on your desktop,
choose Properties...Settings tab. I'll bet your monitor is set to something
higher than 800x600, and your work monitor is. Note: if you change your
screen res. settings, it could cause your desktop icons to rearrange
themselves.

That's correct...I just check mine at work and it is set to the next
highest...mine at home is set to highest level ...will change when i get
home...i also read other entries here and got the same response...thanks

Hey Jon, Just tried to set it at lower resolution but all it does is
"squeeze" the page tighter..makes it look elongated.
