Hello . I have been using XP for a few days and am slowly getting the
feel for it. Currently I'm running in classic view, however I seem to
be unable to display windows explorer so that when I highlight an
image it appears on the left as it does on 98SE when the window is
displaed as a Web Page

You assistance would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Kev.

Not a stupid question, simply can't be done that I'm aware of. The closest
thing to that functionality now is thumbnail view. I had to rack my brains
to remember back that far. IIRC the functionality changed between SE and Me.

Enable "Common Tasks" pane (Folder Options> General). Not sure that shows
up in Classic View but if it does...

Using Windows Explorer, select an image file in some folder. In the
standard toolbar you should have a Folders button. Click on that and it
replaces the tree portion of the window with "common tasks." The Folders
button acts as a toggle for what's displayed on the left: tree view and
common tasks.

Way down at the bottom is Details with a chevron next to it. Click that, if
necessary to extend the column and display a rendering of the selected
image file.

Or just do what Walter says. ;)
