Web page is only partly displayed

I can't see all of the web page as much of it is missing -
just white space. e.g. if I go to www.hotmail.com, only
the logging
in box is displayed (at the top left of the screen) and
not the rest of the page. I've re-installed ie6 with all
the default settings and updated all the windows hotfixes
etc but this has had no effect. Any ideas why I can't
get all the page? Other pages are displayed fine - it's
sort of a hit and miss thing....any thoughts?
Thanks,
Patrick

Your Security settings are too strict.
Things like active scripting are essentially
required for a good web experience.
Go to Internet Options and Security tab,
click on the Default Level button and OK
it. And then if you want to make it more
secure/less -functional then start by disabling
activex settings.

Also goto the Privacy tab and again make
sure it's on Medium, the default.

Cheers for this - I've played around with all the
security settings and all is good now. thanks

You're welcome!

Just be careful if you ever get ActiveX prompts,
which you may still want to disable, never say
"Yes" to the prompt unless you trust the site.
It will always have a "Yes" "No" option and looks
very different than a web page, with a solid grey
background. But active scripting should be enabled,
without it web usage is next to impossible, and it's
much less of a security concern.

Also, make sure you run windows update
and install all the critical updates.
