Greetings,

Is there freeware that would display information about Web pages such as
links, source info and whatever else.I am particularly wanting something that
gives some indication of when the web page was last updated (how current the
info is)... if that is possible??

TIA

Mozilla and Netscape both do this under "View:Info".

MyIE also reveals source info and links but not AFAIK any
indication of how current the page is.Do Mozilla and
Netscape do this?Or perhaps some plug-in?

It indicates links, mime types, the rendering mode used on the
page, character encoding, size, referring link, date modified,
page expiration date (if specified), and also shows the meta
tags.

Which one,MyIE,Netscape or Mozilla?Thanks
Do you know of a third party program that does this (presuming MyIE does not
have this functionality)?

Netscape and Mozilla.

There might be one, but why stick with IE and all its security
flaws?

All those add-ons, and it's still IE, warts and all.

David,

Try looking at bookmarklets.com and similar sites. I keep a small
(one long line) javascript in my links folder to find the last update
to a web page.

Thanks Bill,

Where and how did you get this javascript?..I am guessing it is a
"bookmarklet" so will explore there as you suggested. Thanks again.

Hope you find the bookmarklet or other solution you need. I failed to
record where I got that particular javascript "bookmarklet" (oops),
but you are on the right track.

I'm somewhat enamored of the idea of using a one line script for
purposes like this. Extends the idea of a no-install program about as
far as it can go.

I've intended to look around at several other sites (besides whichever
one I visited), but I haven't yet. If you find anything especially
interesting (a specific script or outstanding site), please let us
know.
