We have an application that opens a page on the user's hard drive in IE for
viewing. When the user views the page, it shows it is in the Internet zone.
There is active content in the page, however it won't work because it thinks
it is in the Internet zone, and we shut off active content for the Internet
zone. I see in group policies there is a 5th "local machine zone". How do
we get this to behave as if it were in the local machine zone? Or is there
some other way to go about this? We have tried in the past to add things
such as "c:\xp" to trusted sites (through group policies) but it didn't seem
to take that.
