Web Page Display Shrank. Why?

Suddenly, web pages on my lapstop stopped filling the window. For example,
the New York Times page used to fill the entire window, horizontally, right
to left. Now, it leaves a couple of inches on the right side of the window.
The entire content is visible, but it occupies less of the window. While a
number of websites are displayed this way, others are not.

Any suggestions?

Hi telluride bizman :-)

As you did not post the version of Windows or IE you are using, I can only
make a general guess. You might try the following and see if it helps:

Window display too small

and possibly
http://inetexplorer.mvps.org/answers2.htm#window_small

If these steps do not resolve your problem, please post back to this thread
with the details and any error messages.

Hope this helps

Why didn't you say "Don't put web pages in the Dryer at a high heat
setting, or else get a smaller monitor"? <vbg>

Oh. Well.....but...I never use my monitor when I'm in the dryer, so..I
didn't think of it. :o)

Well, I tried your suggestions, but no luck. Thanks.

I'm using XP Professional 2002, Service Pack 2 and IE6.
I wonder if I explained the problem correctly. With just
SOME websites, the content of the site does not FILL the
window when it is maximized. Other sites do fill the
window. Just yesterday, they all filled the window. It
seems as if some resizing feature of IE is not working...
It's annoying, but not crippling.

The entire content is visible, but it occupies less of the window.

Try changing your display resolution to 800x600 if you want most
web sites to fill your screen. Web designers code for that standard
using pixels so some pages on higher resolution screens end up
leaving space such as you are seeing.
