Web page dialog boxes sometimes disappear quickly

I've noticed that on a couple of my XP SP1 IE 6 pcs, sometimes when clicking
on a web part to choose something on the page, a dialog box appears with the
information requested, but then very quickly disappears. No matter how many
times I try, it dissapears almost immediately after appearing. I have the IE
up-to-date with cumulative patches. An example is on the USGA (www.usga.org)
site when you click on "Rule of the Day", the dialog box for the rule
question pops up but then almost immediately disappears. Any ideas? I
searched this newsgroup but couldn't find any similar posts. Thanks!
 
Hi,
I suspect that you have a program, toolbar or add-on for IE that's blocking
pop-ups. If it were a javascript problem, I think that the pop-up window
wouldn't open at all.

Check in IE> View> Toolbars to see what's installed (even if disabled.)
Yahoo Companion can cause problems like this.

Any other privacy, security, ad-blocking programs installed? Any program
icons in the Systray that you haven't looked at recently?

Thanks, Don. It was Ad-Aware Plus "AdWatch". As soon as I turned it off,
the dialog box stayed up. Thanks again!
