I have the same problem. I'm creating HTML pages in
Notepad and storing them on my hard drive before
transferring to CD and the Web. Many links which were
working are no longer functional. In addition, if I have
two pages referring to a third, the link on one of the
referring pages will work perfectly, sending me to the
third, but that on the second page will not even though
the links are exactly the same. I don't even get an error
or redirection to a "page not available" page. Even more
frustrating, now links are breaking immediately upon
creating pages and for some reason, I cannot refer to JPG
images and must convert them to GIFs, before they will
appear on my pages. This suggests an escalating problem,
but I cannot find it using such programs as Norton
Utilities (and Antivirus), Spybot and other utilities.
The only clue to a possible source to the problem is that
I defragmented my hard drive just before I notice all
these problems occurring. Anyone else have the same
problem AFTER defragmenting?
