Hi. I am having great difficulty getting the link to the defender website
that is on the tools page to work. In fact it doesn't work at all, never
has, even with the latest update. Anyone got any ideas?

Your post caught my attention. I just reinstalled Defender after several
months of being without it. I decided to test that link. BTW - I connect
via AOL and normally browse useing the AOL browser, but Internet Explorer is
set as my default browser. I clicked the link in Defender, and IE immediately
took me to the Defender web site. No problem. What is your default browser?
If it is IE, I would suspect that you need to tweak your settings. There
does not appear to be anything wrong with the link.

Hi Andy;

Another thing you might try is to flush your DNS...

Exit Windows®Defender by right clicking the Defender icon in the
notification area.

Start > Run > type
ipconfig /flushdns

then click OK.

The ipconfig /flushdns command provides you with a means to flush and reset
the contents of the DNS client resolver cache.

Don't forget to restart WD or simply re-boot.

Hey, now there's a man who knows whats what. Thanks Old Rebel, I too use AOL
for browsing, and have IE7, which I have now set as my default.(shoulda done
that before) and guess what? Problem solved. Thanks again.
