web filter

I was just wanting to know is there any way you can make your internet
explorer or firefox only where you can search the internet with your
favorites only and no other web site since there is so much trash sites out
there i am sick of seeing crap .. or is there a really really good free
filter i can download ... Thanks hope somebody can help me out
