I am using FP 2002 with Win 2000-SP4. I have two webs published to a domain, one of which is a subdomain. It is that web that I am having issues with. Publishing to that domain in the past has been no problem. The subdomain was at http://subdomain.themerg.net and I would tell FP to publish to http://www.themerg.net/subdomain with no issues. Now, when I try to publish it prompts me for my username and password over and over again. When I hit cancel, it says that a web does not exist at that location and asks if I want FrontPage to create a web there. If I answer yes, I get an error message:
Server error: Web already exists: "/subdomain".

I can still publish to my main domain without problems.

Today's problems don't worry me,
I haven't solved yesterday's yet.

The problem is that your previous publishing practice set up the server
extensions in such a way that FrontPage thinks it is a subweb. About all you
can do at this point is uninstall and reinstall the server extensions on
that web site.

You need to contact your host to check permissions for your account as it
relates to your subdomain and the DNS pointing to the subweb.

Well, the more I thought about it, the more I got to wondering. I never told
FP that the subdomain was a subweb. It is actually located in a completely
different directory tree on my PC. I then decided to try the one resolution
I had missed doing--uninstalling/reinstalling the FP extensions for the
subdomain. That did the trick.

Thanks for the responses though,
