several weeks ago I started getting this "box" pop up on my screen. No content & I couldn't get a properties reading to see where it was coming from. About 2 weeks ago it began displaying advertising- still don't know where it's coming from! When the pop up occurs, it stays on my screen until I get rid of it and while it is there, I cannot do anything with my computer. Several times when it has appeared over a short period of time(less then an hour), it caused my dial up to disconnect or at least I was disconnected while the box was there. Could anyone explain -- this is really frustrating!

This is almost certainly being caused by a third-party program (adware,
spyware, parasite)

Download, install, *update* and run these two programs:
Ad-aware from http://www.lavasoft.de/software/adaware/
Spybot from http://security.kolla.de/ (Remove items listed in red- others
are optional.)
