Hi,

A few days ago I posted a request regarding the use of the web browser control in vb.net and it not showing java apps that should be on the web page.

Since the responses i get didn't really help at the time, I went in search. I found a few other browsers people have made and downloaded their versions.....

They all have the same problem

Is this just something you have to accept with the Web Browser Control?????? Does anyone know how to get round it???

Any thoughts / comments appreciated!

Cheers
Adam

Addition.....

I have just downloaded a sample browser from ms support....... that didn;t work either...
so i guess it must be a "live with it" problem.. :(

Hi Adam;
I dont know what exactly you are trying to do but I use the Web Browser
Control to view hundreds of technical documents that are full of java stuff.
Works fine here.
??
meh

I have just tried this and it seems to work fine for me. I created a form with a webbrowser control on and used the navigate method to load "http://www.anfyteam.com" which has a java applet on the main page. The applet is showing up fine. You probably already know that the control is part of IE and uses all the same setting that IE uses. Have you tried loading your java applet up in IE as it may be some security setting you have turned on for IE. Also, what version of IE are you running on? I tested this with IE6 (SP1) which is what I have on my machine. It might be worth trying a complete reinstall of IE incase your installation has somehow got messed up

Hi,

The page in question does work in IE6SP1, just not in the web control on my app..... it's a weird one to say the least...... the pages are coming from a tomcat jsp server, i can;t see how that would make a difference though....

I also tried the site you suggested which works fine my mini browser....

Must be something weird with the app on my tomcat server......
