When I run disk cleanup in windows xp I see a listing for
web/client publisher files. Can anyone tell me what they
are and how they get there??
Thanks,

If you click on that item in the Disk Cleanup window, you will see the
"Description" area below change. It says: "The WebClient/Publisher
service maintains a cache of accessed files on this disk. These files are
kept locally for performance reasons only. and can be deleted safely."

Think "local history" such as opening Windows Explorer to a few folders in
a row. Then using the Back button. This would be the kind of info cached
by the local webclient/publisher service.

NOTE: I have Front Page installed. When I work on a disk based web, I've
notice that this category handles the cache for these as well.
