web browsers and itunes problem

Hello,

Opera and msn messenger work fine on my vista laptop.
But Safari, IE7, Firefox and the itunes Store don't. Safari would report
“unknown error†((null):10061), and IE and Firefox say that the webpage
cannot be found.

Did Anybody have a similar problem and knows how to solve it?

Also, I cannot update Norton Antivirus or any other software as it would say
that I am not connected to the internet. This is strange how can opera and
messenger see that I am connected (I connect through a wifi network), and all
the other web browsers and softwares cannot access the internet?
I think it as to do with some windows update I recently installed, anybody
had similar problems?

Any comments, ideas, questions welcome.

Same thing happened on my laptop. So I uninstalled windows security
update (kb944533). Now IE7 works fine but other web browsers and
softwares still have problem
