web address link in outlook express

when on a web page and I go to mail on the tool bar and
click send a link....I get url files in an attachment on
the outlook express email that comes up. Not everyone can
open these. How do I get a www. address in the body of
the email message instead. Other than copy and Pasteing.
I have windows xp. My old windows 98 put the link in the
body of the email in the form of a www.etc address ,

Yes, MS messed this up. Copying and pasting is what you'll have to do.
