Anybody have Any idea when Web Access to the group will be restored ???
I'm posting this thru ThunderBird but generally prefer to post thru the
Web interface.

I'm just the opposite. I much prefer usenet to the clumsy web
interface.

Steve,

In general I would agree.
But posting thru the web interface grants some degree of authentication
for registered users. Also, if I have my browser open, which is always,
I can do a quick check to see if there are any new initial posts without
opening my newsreader.

But to each their own :-)

So, Steve, do you have an answer to my question?

?:-)

Tim and Old Rebel2:

It might be useful to compare the URL by which you are reaching (or trying
to!) the web version of these groups.

Hi, Bill! I'm using the following:
http://www.microsoft.com/communitie...89c-2d50-476c-b0dd-d72390cf0620&lang=en&cr=US

The funny thing is that I don't have a 'sign in' button showing on the page.
To sign in, I have to initiate a reply to a post. When I'm redirected to sign
in before posting, I get a blank (white) page. Then I have to navigate back
to the original URL and click 'reply' again, and I find that I am already
signed in. Possibly, my KIS antibanner or privacy protection is interferring
with the signin. In any case, MSN Explorer seems to sign me in regardless. As
I am posting now, the 'sign out' button is displayed in 2 locations. Strange.

Well, it might not be working now. I just posted a reply using MSN Explorer,
but it did not show up.
I'm trying again using IE7. I am having a problem signing in with my
Windows Live ID. After I enter the password, I am redirected to a blank page.
(KIS might be interferring? antibanner? antiphishing?---not sure) Maybe a
MSFT server issue.
If I navigate back to the original URL, I find that the signin was
successful and I am able to bring up the 'reply' screen. Whether or not it
works this time is yet to be determined. The URL I'm using:
http://www.microsoft.com/communitie...89c-2d50-476c-b0dd-d72390cf0620&lang=en&cr=US

That link works similarly for me.

It takes me to the right place, and there's no signin button. When I click
to reply to your message, I get a signin dialog, which, when completed, takes
me to a page which never completes loading. Then I go back to your message
again (there is now a signout button!) and click reply, and get the window I
am typing in now.

Anyway--the Web version seems to be working at this writing.
