We want an update with System Tray support

Hi!

I've spent an hour now reading all posts about Windows Mail and sollutions
for how to minimize it to the system tray and it seems there is no built-in
function for it as there was in Outlook Express. I must say that this is a
totall downgrade, I expected a lot more from Vista there.

In here people say I should use WinMailTray but that only makes me opens
mail or open "send new mail", thus it doesn not check for new mail. So
instead I had to get a program from a 3rd Party company (Pop Peeper) instead
wich works great, but I'd rather see Windows Mail have a Minimize To Tray
function instead.

It seems we are many here that are fed up with not being able to have
Windows Mail running in the background and we would all love an update were
that function is implentated.

Myself, I like the new Windows Mail but being able to minimize is important
so I see when I get new mails directly. I think I'll give it to this winter
when I heard there's be a Service Pack 1 thing coming out, and if that
crucial update isn't there I think I'll go back to Thunderbird again.

Still, keep up the good work team!

Windows Live Mail has the option to minimize to the system tray.
Personally I find it to be a trivial attribute on which to choose one's
favorite email program.

Well, then we're back at square one again wich is: "Install a completely new
mail-client" and then I would rather go with Thunderbird wich I've used
before and know are very safe, effective and good. And the spam-filter there
learns of what I choose, my Windows Mail are still places several of my
newsletters and friends as netfishing or spam, even though I've added them to
my Contacts.

But as I said, I'll give it until the first major update before I completely
change all programs to 3rd party again.
*holding my thumbs Microsoft listens to all notes in this forum about the
sys-tray support* :)

Outlook Express did NOT have the ability to minimize to the toolbar. If it
was doing it you had a third party program installed to do it.

Well, I believe MS will not add (but I want it too badly) the system tray
support for Windows Mail since this feature is available in Outlook. They
MIGHT think that if you want it buy outlook. The system tray support was not
even added to OE until it got replaced with Windows Mail. We can never know
why they didn't add it when everybody wants it. If MS will not add system
tray support for WinMail.exe then I would love they give us a free email
notifier.

I'm still using Windows Mail as my email client but of course with the POP
peeper free utility. I don't like WinMail running all the time coz it
consumes 3,300+ K of Memory so I load POP peeper which consumes 1,500+ K
memory 50% less.
