After installing WDM drivers (2.20) downloaded from Nvidia I experienced some
problems, first I noticed my dvd-rom and cd burner were not showing in My
Compter, I fixed this with windows KB Q314060. Then I noticed my sound wasn't
working, I tried uninstalling WDM drivers reinstalling sound and chipset
drivers I tried taking out the pci sound card and enabling onbaord sound.
Windows will see the new hardware, I'll install the latest drivers, device
manager says it's ok but in Sounds and Audio Devices Properties it says "no
audio devices".
I am also getting errors in the Application event log

Faulting application setup.exe, version 1.0.0.28, faulting module setup.exe,
version 1.0.0.28, fault address 0x00001b1f.

Are you sure you're installing the correct drivers for XP? AFAIK
nVidia usually provides all Windows version drivers in the same
download, and hopefullyt the logic to apply the right one - but just
"WDM" doesn't assure me they are the right ones for XP.

WDM (Windows Driver Model) was a term westarted to see with Win98
Second Edition, which supported WDM as a common driver model for both
Win98SE and the NT versions of the time - but that was way before XP.

So a "WDM" driver may be written for Win98SE + NT4.0, and I would not
choose this over Win2000 or (best-case) XP itself.

Ensure the separate soundcard is in the PCI slot furthest away from the AGP
slot.

There's not problem that I know of with the WDM drivers from nVidia (which
are the video capture drivers for the VIVO enabled graphics cards)....
although my PC doesn't like the 2.26 (released May 2005) it prefers the 2.20
