WD

WD tells me there's a new update and to download it. I did but everytime I
try to install it, it freezes on the first page when I hit "Next". I can't
get past this. Help!

Does AutoUpdate work on your system?
Try going to Windows Update and applying all offered critical updates.

I ran Windows update and everything was up to date. Can I just keep running
the current version and not worry about the download?

Can you go to the Help-About, and post what WD version, Engine version, and
Definition version you have..

Users who normally select advanced Spynet membership should be aware that
the install process will set you back to basic membership, so it's a good
idea to revisit both the Spynet membership area of Tools, and the Options
area--to see what's different, and check that your old choices have been
preserved.
I would also recommend: Download and save to the desktop. Close all open
IE windows, and any open Windows Defender UI window before running the
downloaded installer.

I did as stated - when I got to the accept license, it froze again. I tried
uninstalling, it froze. I don't know where to go from here.
