Found a way that works. Worked fine last two updates. add or remove
programs-Windows Defender-change-upate Windows defender-at end check for
updates should be checked-next-when done it will have latest

Still this should be fixed-is anybody else running norton internet security
when this occurs?

I'd bet there are a bunch, but an equal bunch also running NIS that don't
see the issue--but I don't have a clear picture at this point--I'm not at
all sure of the size of the beta--or whether the current folks using it are
skewed--actually--I'm certain that they ARE skewed towards the
techie/security conscious end of the spectrum--the "early adopters."

WD automatically installed the last two updates and I began to beleive that
Microsoft had at last fixed this problem. However , on this latest update I
had to use the Msiexec /x {A5CC2A09-E9D3-49EC-923D-03874BBD4C2C} fix. What is
going on? It is all a bit of a shambles.

My Windows Defender also quit updating. Removed and re-installed WD before I
found this post, still would not update. Ran the link in 915105, opened WD,
was finally able to update! Thanks for the help! Beta 1 did not have any
"serious" issues such as this. You'd think beta 2 would be better than beta
1???

I am not running NIS (or Norton of any kind except GoBack), and stil have
occasional update issue. The Windows Install Cleanup tool fixes the
problem...delete the sigs, then update through Windows Update ot the Defender
update.

I've never had an issue of the homepage not showing the right sigs, just the
updater not taking the update properly.

Thanks!
