Download went great, no problem with auto mode, but still shows old date and
time of last build.

Foxhill 3:
Check if your Defender version is old 1051. If so, without removing version
1051, download and install Defender new Version 1347 ontop of 1051. Do the
Check for updates and wait a wile. The Version should update as you look.

Bill

The update took the first time I downloaded it and shows 1.14.1396.12, but
the date and time would not change would not change. The version I have isa
1.1.1247.0, should I still try the steps in the KB article.

Sorry, version 1.11347.0

I'm not sure that I know what the correct date and time should be for the
new update. They seem unchanged on the few systems I've gotten updated so
far.

I think I'd leave it alone for the time being--the unchanged date and time
may be correct.

Don't know if this will help you, nor is what you are looking for, but I have:
1051 Size 6.40MB Created 2/17 Modified 2/13 Time stamped Monday, February
13, 2006 10:33:37PM.
1347 Size 5.49MB Created 4/13 Modified 4/11 Time stamped Tuesday April 11,
2006 9:01:45PM.
Hope will help.

I had to do the "run" command to get this update, this is despite having the
new build. I don't understand why WD sometimes installs the updates
automatically at times, then at other times I have to use the "run" command.
All very irritating!

My update process succeeded, but it was WEIRD!!!. As soon I I logged on, the
Microsoft update icon was in the system tray. After it completed, I checked
Defender, and I still have the old Def's listed. Checked the Event Viewer -
nothing about Defender updates or Micosoft installer. Went directly to Wndows
Update site and attempted to download/install. Result: failure. Returned to
desktop thinking I was going to need to use the installer clean up, but I
opended Defender and the new Def's were showing. Returned immediately to
Windows Update and my history showed no failure -but a successful install
instead. WEIRD!!!

It's the line at the very bottom of the home page I need--is this correct?

1.14.1396.12 created on 4/10/02/2006 at 3:11 PM.

(make allowances for international date formats--I hope they will change
this to use a long format which is not ambiguous.)
