Hi,

I just bought a 120 Gig WD Passport portable hard drive (from COSTCO for
$150). Drive works fine as storage, but it comes with a piece of software
called "WD Sync" which they claim performs minor miracles.

"...The new WD Sync(TM) software enables users to securely access, edit and
share Microsoft Word® documents and Excel® spreadsheets, MP3 files, e-mails,
attachments and more from anywhere -- in a cybercafe, on a friend's laptop
or in a colleague's office. ...."

I find this fascinating. Means I could travel with a little portable drive
that would give me some of the functionality I get from a laptop.

But there are problems. WD Sync doesn't seem to be able to grab my OE
address book data. There is no printed or online manual and the help
screens are not working. I have no idea how I am supposed to get this thing
to work with a host computer.

I think WD Sync is actually written by Dmailer.com. Their web site doesn't
have a lot of additional information.

Anybody have any experience with WD Sync?

Thanks,

DaveC
