How do I keep WD from creating restore points?

hopefully in the final version they will have figured this out because a
bunch of us beta testers here have the same problems.
Some of us uncheck in tools/options/ in Real time protection
uncheck "software that has not been classified yet"
or play with both settings by checking one and unchecking another or
unchecking both or visa versa.
There is a work a round for it that someone else will post for you but I am
told by one of the microsoft techs that frequent here that will be fixed in
the final version

Try adding the following value to registry under:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows Defender\Scan
DisableRestorePoint REG_DWORD 1
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows Defender\Scan
DisableRestorePoint REG_DWORD 1
