Hi,
I had (for cheap) a WD Protégé IDE 80Gb Hdd.
Only one year old but not under warranty by WD.
This drive seams to be locked, so I can't use it WD diagnostic error
code 220 says:
Drive is locked
Security feature of the drive reports locked status. Some vendors use
the security feature to ensure the usage of only specific drives in
their system, or the drive may have been locked by a user using a third
party utility to enable this feature. The same utility and the original
code used to lock the drive are necessary to unlock this drive. Please
contact the system vendor for the above-mentioned information.

Is there any way to unlock it without knoing what utility has been used
to lock it?
Thanks.

Yes. Use this utility:
You should be able to find a version with English instructions.

On joep's link I already got the same and it was in English, the problem
is that this utility needs the hdd password to unlock the drive, and I
don't know it and I don't have the Xbox.

Was this from a modded Xbox... or is it an actual Xbox drive. Xbox hard
drives are 8 or 10GB so could it be an 8GB drive?

You are right, it's a 8Gb drive.
