Previous definitions updated just fine on my pc's - this one did NOT- had to
go through the cut and paste thing - then it updated. ????? Had my hopes
up that the update problems were over, but.........................maybe next
time.

**********************
The update installed quickly, on three of my PC's, with no problems. Todate
I have had no problems with updates to WD.

This one installed first time from Microsoft updates, express. It seems that
for me, the installs alternate between success and failure. So I'll probably
have problems next time...

This update has autodownloaded and then been installed four times today, with
reboots of my machine done twice in teh course of the day (for other reasons)
and the yellow shield has just appeared again to tell me it is ready to be
installed.

All previous updates have installed without any problem. I run XP pro SP2,
fully updated on an IBM X40.

Agree, Bill - this is what I referred to above (as cut and paste). It
worked like a charm for me on two pc's this time. Thanks for helping the
unfortunate of us whose Defenders seem to be erratic from time to time.

You're welcome! Sorry that it's needed, and also that it isn't the final
fix in some situations.

Definition update 1.14.1361.6 is now available through the usual means.

This update installed automatically for me. This is the second time in a
row. WOW! Hope it continues.

means.

A quick, flawless update, as usual.

Mine kept installing and installing. I had to do the following again and
then open the program and check for updates. All is fine now.

Start>run>Msiexec /x {A5CC2A09-E9D3-49EC-923D-03874BBD4C2C}

Answer yes to the window that asks "Do you really want to delete this
file?". Check for updates and Defender should update to the latest
definition file.
