Thanks for the stats Mucks :thumb:

What happened to MJW :( - I assume hes still OK and its just boinc doing as it pleases as usual!

A word of WARNING here folks ... dispite my vigilence the MJW pc returned no points :o ... why? 'cos the dam Boinc "crashed" AGAIN ... the problem is, you don't know it has crashed if you leave the "manager" open.

This is the third time since it has been running the Boinc Tweaked program ... I AM NOT AMUSED ... in fact you could say I am really %&*$"£* ... *%$!%& ... about it.

Might be worth making a cron job to restart BOINC every 3 hours or so Mucks? If it saves it current status it will not lose any points, but will mean that you will know it is running almost all the time (with only about 10 seconds less crunching power per day).

It is fine ... but I ain't. :(

I was in and out most of yesterday so I turn off the monitor ... I just turn it on and have a quick look ... I leave the "manager" open so when I turn the monitor back on I can have a quick look.

Well ... I will not be leaving the "manager" running in future ... it only happens if you leave the manager open ... dam bugger and blast.

I really could kick myself ... but this lesson will NOT be forgotten and it will not happen again ... if it does I don't need much incentive to put UD back on ... hell, I'll go whole hog and put Linux on first.

oh, I hate computer ...

Yeah my name is on and off... testing some stuff do BOINC isn't running as much.

Ian ... I put my one and only copy of XP Pro on the MJW pc ... just to have some stability ... I ain't no expert on Linux but my Linux boxes with Boinc have never "crashed" so ... I just may shove Linux on it too.

I know how to work Boinc in Linux ... hehe ... you put it on and never reboot. :D

Good lad ... testing is important. :thumb:

You still share the wooden spoon though. :p

Cheers Mucks, only a couple of days until you and V_R should be joining me ;)

I will put the kettle on in anticipation, you would you like something a little stronger to settle your nerves after playing with the MJW system? :D

Hmmm, not heard of that problem before - wondering if its just applicable to that PC, a conflict of some sort perhaps?

Out of interest, can you remind me of the specs Mucks?

If anyone else here comes across this problem, maybe they can let us know :thumb:

Cheers mucks! :)

Correct me if i'm wrong, but is that not our best return to date? :D

Well done team!! :thumb:

I've never had a prob with BOINC, before tweaking or after..... :fingers crossed:

Well done CI, keep the pot warm and i dont take sugar. Better still, do you have something like me avatar? :D

We`re all doing well are we not:thumb:

OH gawd, not again ... Sorry itsme, it was not intentional ... I don't know why I keep doing that ... fortunately you actually returned over 2,000 points :D ... I corrected the stats.

Me thinks I better have a day off.

:o

I almost forgot, the 2nd pc i had crunching, had not returned a job since 22/01, so i popped round there, (It said 21% after 21Hours! Hmmm.... somethings not right its always on, bar the night.) So decided to install BOINC and tweak. Will monitor for any impact. :)

EDIT: Stats just been updated, 100,584 for me!!! YAY!! :D

CITech, you better get the beers in the fridge!!

Just this PC, I have not seen anybody complaining on WCG

AMD Sempron 64bit 2600 754 ... SSE & all that jazz supported ... hence using Boinic Tweak to get some extra benchies out off the chip
512 3200 ram
MSI K8M800 MB
Win XP Pro

... and a few other bits-n-bobs

I don't use it ... well I'll look at how to do something for a reply to a question on XP here @ PCR ... but nothing is ever done on it.

You know how I feel about this Boinc program, thing is, I do now agree with you that it does make a difference.

It must have been "hung" most of the day and all night ... that is why I'm so annoyed with myself, the computer gave me no indication of anything being wrong ... It won't happen again, if it does then I WILL put Linux on it. ;)
