I am impressed with BOINC. Its churning out the points, and the last 2 weeks its only been just my pc on 24/7 as the other device has been off coz the owners are on hols.

yeah boinc has been impressing me aswell i have had it for two days now and on both days it has returned more points and results than any of my other days using wcg agent! so hopefully i will be moving up the table

I should sort my pc out on BOINC later, it's currently being ridiculously slow and the cause is the nVidia on NIC Firewall, eating around 500MB RAM to itself, so i'm going to have to bin it and reinstall, as any possible way i try to remove it atm is causing the PC to lockup and reboot itself.

Now that sounds a good candidate for "Boinc on Windows as a service" ... if you "suspend" the laptop I think Boinc keeps working. I cannot confirm that as I still need to "pinch" my nephew's laptop to try it out.

Any other Laptop owners wan't to try that for me?

When i suspend my laptop, the whole lot shuts down, fan's, screen, hard drive, everything, and then it resumes once i open the lid again.

So i guess it wouldn't run on mine while Suspended...

ah well, shame ... nevermind. Just that I had to suspend from my Linux box and when I logged back in Boinc was still running.

Bex, as long as you're running something, it is all that counts.
