Rush - are you having problems ?

I crunched for 13 hours yesterday and my score went up by 491?

On Monday i crunched for 4 hours and my score went up by 1691?
I know the difference is that when the crunched work gets validated and points get added, but it is a strange feeling to have crunched for 13 hours for a such a small return!

Keep telling you ... Boinc has its own mind, just ignore it in the knowledge that it'll "works out" in the end. :thumb:

:D

But you must have been a good feeling when you 'appeared' to get 1691 for only 4 hours crunching on Monday though ;)

Ahhh, the mysteries of Boinc....:D

Sometimes when the workunits finish it remains idle , I just have to give Boinc Manager a click and look at work then the units appear and away it goes...just frustrating that its been a wasted day :(

The settings were set to run based on preferences , changed to run always..strange that i had set it before (maybe a month ago) to run always...will keep an eye on it :)

OK, what do you mean by idle - is it when you hover over the boinc icon in the taskbar?

If so, this is normal - when you open up boinc manager on screen, there is a slight delay between what you saw when you last closed it down and the current situation.

I have mine always set to run based on preferences with no problem, make sure your default boinc profile is set up correctly - if you are online 24/7 and crunch 24/7, then have the 'connect to network every x days' set to 0.005 :thumb:

Congratulations Triplex

All hail & well done :D 200K is pretty  But what you going to do with all them random zeros lying around? You wanna be careful... they might start breeding & then you'd be shooting out into the never-never & we won't see you for dust ;):)

*sorry about all the colours... I'm on firefox & I just couldn't help myself

Rush, yeah, I've had trouble with the preferences too, I think they can be a bit dodgy sometimes. It has re-set mine twice now, although this time I'm not having the same troubles I was having before yesturday. (sorry Ady, it's re-set them again this evening:( but as I said, nowhere near the same sort of troubles as before so don't worry:) )

I think you're right Rush. We'll just have to keep an eye on them & fix as needed. I think BOINC is a very temperamental animal:rolleyes: but every bit helps:)

Not again!! :( - when you say 'its re-set mine twice', do you mean that when you go to your Boinc default profile at wcg they have re-set to the default settings?

Well done TD! :thumb:

That confused me when i first installed BOINC. Open up BOINC and you'll see it 'refreshes' every 5 seconds, watch the 'CPU Time' and you'll see what we mean. :)

Dont forget the WCG Team Thread guys. ;)

Good show TD :D

I just leave boinc minimised all the time, sometimes I've been unsure if it has been sticking or looking for a connection, but it always seems to sort itself out in a few mins.
