ah, so that's where it goes ... I knew you had something for your 10,000 points ... same as the other stats thingies then.

Nice. :thumb:

Anyone else notice that the FightingAIDS@home jobs use a load more memory?

Haven't noticed Vanilla, but you can chose whether or not to accept them by going to Devices in your WCG Grid...:thumb:

Yeah i seen that, it dont worry me as i got enough, played FEAR yesterday with it running and didnt notice anything.

Yep, it is in the notes I posted up ... :p

As for us Linux users, we'll have to wait ...

Mucks - do you have any idea whether you get more points for the Aids jobs if it uses more memory?

I did read that, promise! :o

You poor linux users! :p

The 'more memory' is needed because of the work it has to do ... and you will probably get a few extra point for doing one.

You can tell us when you've finished it. ;)

The reason why I asked is I'm running an old Duron machine which only has 384 RAM.

Do you think I'm going to have a problem running these?

Personally I would reject any and stick to the others ...
We set the minimum system requirements higher (250MB RAM and 550Mhz CPU) for the new project because of its considerably larger memory requirement. In addition, because the checkpointing intervals can be rather long on slow machines, this can lead to considerable delays in completing a work unit, especially when the machine is shut down regularly. Therefore, we have set the minimum CPU higher for this project as well. We will attempt to modify the research program to checkpoint more frequently and to use less memory. In that event, we may be able to lower the minimum system requirements.
;)

My main concern would be the delay in completing the work unit ... points are ok, it makes the 'job' fun, but I would rather get the 'work' done.

'tis up to you ... :thumb:

Thanks Mucks - think I will set this machine up to reject Aids jobs at the moment just to make sure:thumb:

I'm churning lots of jobs out so yes Postill, i shall be climbing up the league table to your current position ;)

I think your right Chris, I also think you will probably catch me too:eek:

However competition amongst the team is a good thing - so I don't mind - it should encourage us all to work harder for the cause...:thumb:

I only have three machines running WCG so i'm quite surprised at the performance,

I turned my laptop off earlier as it was getting rather hot and i don't want this month's electric bill to go through the roof :)
