Are .wav sounds (ie windows default sounds) played with an external
soundcard if the onboard audio is disabled or would i still need some
onboard audio codecs enabled to get them to play?

Regards

Default beep sounds are the only thing that's played through the computer speaker. All
wav/midi/mp3, etc. files are played through your sound card. It's good to have all of the latest
updated codecs installed anyway. MS makes changes to their Media Player ( if that is your
default ) all the time.....

Thank you very much for the feedback.
