Hi

I have created a presentation that has 3 wav files that I
use on separate pages. It works fine on my computer but
when I copy the presentation to a cd or send it via
email, the sound is not there. How can I get around this?

Many thanks

Julie

How large, and how are you inserting the wav files? also, which version of PowerPoint

One file is 24MB and the other 5MB. One was inserted
using the Insert, Movies and Sound from file option and
dragged to the side of the slide, the other was recorded
in the presentation using the Insert, Movies and Sound,
Record Sound. 2002 version of PP.

Hi Julie,

Normally .wav files are embedded into your presentation, if your max allowable filesize does not exceed the size set in the Tools | Options | General | Link sounds with files size greater than... It sounds like you may be linking the files, and when you send/put onto a CD the links get broken. A way to avoid this is to put your files into the same folder as your presentation before you insert them, then send with the presentation when you move/send it.

You might want to knock that 24 MB file size down a bit. I recently learned (thanks to this newsgroup--and Steve in particular) that I could use the good old sound recorder to change the properties of the wav file to decrease the size. I changed my CD quality file to radio quality and was able to shrink it down considerably.
