wav files don't work anymore

sorry if something similar was already discussed but i didn't find an answer
yet
not long ago i was able to add wav files to my slideshows, now i can't

my songs can only be linked, if i delete the song my pps is mute
it's quite annoying because every single pps i create is lirical and need
some music...
I even removed Office and install again, the same problem

i don't know what else to do

Try this first:

Tools, Options, go to General tab
Look for the "Link sounds ..." option.
By default it's 100kb.
Crank it up.
Way up.
In fact, just type in 50000 (fifty thousand)

Now OK your way out and try inserting your WAV files again.
