As usual under glass gives an apparent 27 years plus claimed fade
resistance. Tony
Tony, you've not answered the question - I'm not interested in whether it's
lightfast, I'm interested in it's waterproofing capabilities - the sort of
things I'm creating aren't going to be kept under glass (postcards, business
cards, greetings cards and the like). I don't want a card, delivered on a
day like today, to arrive in an unrecognisable state!
Thanks
The Canon i9100 uses normal dye based inks which are not waterproof.
This is the same for all BCI6 cartridges, so you're not going to get a
waterproof print from this printer. Your option is to purchase a UV/
Waterproof spray which will render them waterproof but this means
spraying from an aerosol after printing.

Colonel said:Interesting thread. I use BCI6's refilled with ink from alotofthings
on RR and OD paper. Two minutes after printing (maybe less, I've not
bothered to time minimum) I can run water over it without any
smearing. Of course the paper will eventually pick up water along the
sides or back and ruin it but things like rain drops won't cause it
to smear, in my experience.

depends on the formulation of the coating - microporous vs. resin.
