Hello,

I am making a booklet and I would like a watermark to
appear only on the front page. By adding it as a
background>watermark it either displays on all pages or
on none. Any ideas?

Hi Joey,

In File > Page Setup, on the Layout tab, click the checkbox for
"Different first page" and OK. Now you'll have the watermark on every
page except the first -- the opposite of what you want. Go to page 2,
open the header, and cut the watermark to the clipboard. Click the
Previous button on the Header toolbar to go to the First Page Header,
and paste the watermark there. Close the header and save.

Hi, Jay,

I'm working in Word 2003. When I read your reply to
Joey, I decided to try it just in case I have a similar
problem soon.

I put some random text on 5 pages and went to Page Setup
and clicked the checkbox for "Different first page." But
it still placed the watermark on all pages. What did I
do wrong?

Thanks for all your help, Jay, past, present and future!

Maria

View | Header and Footer. Select the watermark from the Header, Cut it, and
Paste it into the First Page Header.
