I recently shopped a water cooler and was also seriously considering the
Zalman or other ‘out of case’ coolers. The biggest problem I had with them
was moving the case around. It basically impossible without a second set of
hands. I opted for an all-in-one solution.
I bought the Swiftech 8600 kit, very nice but the one radiator wasn’t enough
for high voltage overclocking. I added a second radiator in parallel and its
amazing! Temp is simply NOT a problem any more and the machine is very
quiet.
I used the Swiftech NB block but had problem with it staying on the board,
it basically broke the MB and damaged my video card. I got rid of it and
went with a big aluminum heatsink and quiet 40mmfan on the NB. The block are
heavy!
I’m about to buy a cooler for my video card (9800p) and was considering a
water cooler block for it but I think I have decided on the large Zalman
heatsink with a large 92mm fan blowing across the entire card. I use a fan
speed controller’s and can make the 92mm fan as quiet as I want. Certainly
there are other sound making things in the case to contend with once you
quiet the CPU and case fans. I also got a Zalman 400w PSU (again, very
quiet!).
The water cooler was easy to set up and prime (Swiftech’s setup is great)
and the pump uses no reservoir (that’s a good thing) and is very quiet, it
also runs off the PSU without a problem.

I've been thinking about getting the Zalman water-cooling system [ Linked

And I notice that if you get the VGA block they give you two blocks, one
ATI and the other for Nvidea.
Just want to know, anyone out there have this unit? Does it really
increase performance?
It got a pretty good review [ Linked @

For those that do have it, have you ran into any problems installing this
thing? And more importantly is it worth it?
The primary idea of this thing looks like to quiet your PC along with
boosting performance… Well I’ve been around computer fans all this time so
I’m not in any hurry to start getting my machine quiet,.
I’m most interested in the boost, if any..
If I do get one of the newer VGA cards now it looks like the VGA water
block will fit with no problem. But what about in 2, 3 years? Will they
just discontinue the product, or sell a seprate VGA block and chagre 20,
30 bucks?
What do you think?
