My goal is simple: to make a VCD that can be slipped into a DVD player and have the pictures run on a TV set. Don't need music, commentary, at least for now I just would like to start with the pictures running on a TV (I am not too technology smart). My problem that I hope someone can help me with is: how do I make the VCD, and what software/hardware will I need to do this? I currently use Roxio to copy pictures to a CD but am willing to buy whatever is necessary. Thanks! phil

I use a program called Dazzle OnDvd. It is very simple and cheap; it works
great. It makes a slideshow of pictures. With it, you can use music tracks
if you want to.

Some DVDs don't even require you to do this- they just can have read picture
files, burned to a CD- but it all depends on what you want to do.

Hi phil,

A quick search on Google got me this link, but I'm sure
there's many more programs to choose from:

Microsoft Plus! PhotoStory 2 would be an
option. It's included with the Microsoft Plus!
Digital Media Edition software.

You can read about it at the following link.

Microsoft Plus! Digital Media Edition

You can download a free version of Plus
PhotoStory 2 LE at the following site...also
you can download some sample Photo
Stories.

Try out Plus! Photo Story 2 LE
http://tinyurl.com/tmzu

To create a PhotoStory requires WinXP
and WMP9 but they can be viewed with
WinSE or better and WMP7.1 or better.

The free version does not have the option
to burn a VCD but at least you could get
an idea of what a PhotoStory is like..
