Somewhere in all the acres of downloads on my hard drive now and in the
past, there was a word processor that would save files in Palm Document
(.pdb) format. I could have *sworn* that it was Abiword; yet, when I
re-installed it on my hard drive to check, it sure wasn't there. I
thought it might have possibly been a plugin, but after spending half a
day searching all over the place, I don't see any additional format
converter plugins that will work with my Win9X machine.

I know that there are programs that will convert programs, but it is
driving me absolutely BONKERS trying to figure out where that crazy word
processing program went that would save files in .pdb format.

Does anybody know what one it was, and if it *was* Abiword, what I need
to do to get it to save in .pdb format?

(Yes, I am crazy to want the word processor instead of the converter --
I have ADD, non-hyperactive type, and these crazy things will drive me nuts.

Thanks bunches,
Melinda

I am running Abiword 1.04 on a Linux system and it does indeed have an
option to save a file as a .pdb extension.... I just checked my Win Version
of Abiword (also 1.04) and it too has the ability to save as .pdb. No
special tricks needed to make it do so...just select it from drop down box.
I'm not sure if earlier or later versions of Abiword have this capability
but at least the 1.04 version appears to be what you are looking for.

Don't know about AbiWord, but Open Office does.

Make sure you install the plugin set and Palm Doc export is a plugin.
Be sure the version match.

BTW, I recommend anyone to install the plugins.
