I
Ian MacKinnon
Folks,
I have a great virus scanner that I update on a daily
basis however, I was hit by something that flew above the
scanner's ability.
I was hit by something that I call a redirector. Whenever
I try to access a search engine, even through a separate
web page I would be re directed to a domain name selling
service. It would also change the search. For instance,
if I typed in www.google.ca, it would show
www.www.google.ca.com and then go to this domain selling
service. Argh !
The only way I found to fix this puppy was to delete the
hosts.* file out of windows directory thereby making
internet searching impossible slow.
How do I fix this ?
Thanks.
Ian.
