Hi

I have the default settings that windows works out for you. Why do I get
this annoying message?

I have Windows XP Home Edition on a 256MB Machine.

Cheers

TIA

control panel, system, advanced, under 'performance' heading click
'settings', then advanced, under 'virtual memory' heading click 'change'.
you probably need to raise the 'initial size' (minimum) amount.

Finally, please make sure to update ALL your programs, games, etc. Some of
these may have problems with memory leaks, which eats memory.

I would up the amount of ram that you have as 256 is probably the smallest
amount you can run winxp with ease

Hi Kysar,

Do you have Intel Application Accelerator installed? If so, you need to
uninstall it and install the latest version. The older ones are incompatible
with WinXP and can cause this error message.

If not, then try this: Go to System properties/advanced/performance
settings/advanced tab/virtual memory change and disable the swap file.
Reboot. Delete all instances of pagefile.sys from all drives should any
exist, then reverse the original steps and reenable the swap file. Reboot
once more to finish. See if this helps,
